Android

  1. Open the downloaded file TheGameGift.apk.
  2. If Android asks, allow installing apps from your browser (just for this).
  3. Tap Install, open Game Gift and sign in.
  4. Say yes to notifications when it asks.

This is our own signed app while the Google Play listing is being prepared. Play Protect may say it comes from an unknown developer; that is normal for any app installed outside the Play Store.

iPhone and iPad

Apple offers no download outside its App Store, so on an iPhone the shop goes on your Home Screen as an app:

  1. Open www.thegamegift.com in Safari (other iPhone browsers cannot do this).
  2. Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow.
  3. Scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open Game Gift from your Home Screen and sign in.
  5. Turn on notifications under Your games → Notifications (iOS 16.4 or newer).

On iPhone, notifications work in the Home Screen app, not in a Safari tab.

What it tells you

  • Your turn
    The characters are drawn: choose your favourites and we build the game.
  • Ready to play
    The game is finished and waiting in the app.
  • Gifts
    Your gift was delivered on its day, and when it is opened.
  • Reminders
    A game waiting for payment, or one you started and did not finish.

You choose which of these you want, phone by phone, and news and offers stay off unless you turn them on.

Questions

Do the games play inside the app?

Yes. Every game on your account opens full screen in the app, turned sideways if you like, with the same controls as in the browser.

Is the Android file safe?

It is signed with our own key and opens only this website. Android warns about every app that does not come from the Play Store; the listing there is on its way.

Can I have notifications without the app?

Yes, on a computer or in Chrome on Android: sign in, open Your games → Notifications and turn them on for that browser.

How do I stop them?

In Your games → Notifications: switch off any kind, or turn them off for one device. You can also remove a device you no longer have.
