The Game Gift ("we") makes personalised games from the photographs you send. This page says what we collect, why, who helps us, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website and The Game Gift apps for Android and iPhone, which show this same website.

What we collect, and why

• Your account: your name, email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash), when you made the account and when you last signed in. We need these to show you your games and to write to you about your orders.
• Your order: the photographs you upload of the people in the game, the names you give, the occasion, your choices (world, art style, outfits, extras), any message, pictures, videos or music you add for the ending, and, for a gift, the recipient's name, email address and the date to send it. We need all of this to make the game and deliver it.
• Payments: the amount, currency, the payment provider's reference and whether it succeeded. Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's or PayPal's own pages and never reach us. For a manual payment you send us, we keep the reference you give.
• Messages: what you write through the contact form, with your name and email address, so we can answer.
• Notifications: if you turn them on, the address your phone or browser gives us for notifications, which kinds you want, and what we sent. You can turn them off at any time.
• Visits: the pages opened on this site with the time, the IP address, the browser's description and the page you came from, and when a game is played. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages help people.
• Cookies: one cookie keeps you signed in and protects the forms. If we switch on Google Analytics, it sets its own cookies to count visits; if we switch on Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form, Google checks that you are a person.

Who helps us

• Making the characters: your photographs and the descriptions of your choices are sent to AI image and video services (through OpenRouter, which passes them to model providers such as Google and OpenAI) to draw the characters and, if you choose it, to make living pictures. They receive only what is needed to draw.
• Hosting and email: the website, your account and our emails run on Hostinger's servers. Games are built on our own computer and then uploaded to the website.
• Payments: Stripe and PayPal, under their own privacy policies.
• Notifications: Google (Android and Chrome), Apple (iPhone and Safari) or Mozilla (Firefox) carry a wake-up signal to your device. It contains no words and nothing about you; your phone then fetches the message from us.
• Optional: Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA, only when switched on.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photographs for anything but your own game.

How long we keep it

Your account and games stay while your account is open, so you can play and download them again. Records of purchases are kept as long as the law asks us to keep them. Visit records are cleared from time to time. Notification addresses are removed when you turn notifications off, remove the device, or the device stops answering.

Deleting your account and your photographs

You can close your account yourself: here is how. Closing it stops anyone signing in to it. The records of your purchases stay, as the law asks. If you also want the photographs and the game files of your orders deleted, write to us through the contact form from the address on your account and we will delete them and confirm.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Use the contact form. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Orders are placed by adults. A game may be made for a child from photographs a parent or guardian sends and has the right to use.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and important changes are announced on the site.
