Which world?

Each world has its own enemies, its own tool in your hand, its own companion and its own finish. Any occasion can be told in any of them.

The Long Castle A castle at dusk: the meadow at the gates, the keep by torchlight, the ramparts under the moon. Knightlings, rolling shields, crossbow traps, catapult imps and boar-helm guards in the way; a wooden sword to swing; a gargoyle that hops along with you. Ten levels, and the chapel door at the end.

Classic Platformer A mechanic's morning: the workshop, the scrap yard, the road out of town. Bolt bugs, rolling tyres, oil gremlins and junkers in the way; a wrench to swing; a car to get running. Ten levels, and the finish is where the party is.

Jungle Trail A trail through the wild: the meadow, the burrows, the ridge at night. Boars, hedgehogs, porcupines, monkeys and a wolf; a branch to swing; a cat that joins you. Ten levels, and home at the end.

The Long Night One night, three places: a village street of paper lanterns, a bamboo grove in the rain, the castle roofs under a red moon. Foot ninja, spear guards, archers and armoured samurai in the way; a katana to swing; a white fox that runs with you. Ten levels, and the lit dojo at the end.

The Long Way Home The long way home: the launch deck at dawn, the ship's hold under a red beacon, then open orbit. Maintenance bots, wheel-mines, turrets and a loader that runs you down; a spanner to swing; a repair drone that flies with you. Ten levels, and the airlock at the end.

Tennis Club Three courts in a day: the park in the morning, the ball depot under the stands, centre court at night. Ball hogs, loose cones, ball machines and rival players in the way; a racket to swing; a ball cart that runs with you. Ten levels, and the clubhouse at the end.

Snow Peak One day up a mountain: a snowy village at first light, deep pines and long blue shadows in the afternoon, the summit at dusk above a frozen lake. Snow imps, rolling boulders, frost vents, snowball pelters and a runaway sledge in the way; a shovel to swing; a penguin that toboggans beside you. Ten levels, and a lit cabin at the top.
