THE GAME GIFT

A Father's Day game where nothing needs fixing

One day where nothing is broken and nobody is asking. Send two photographs and we draw him as the hero, in the art style and the clothes you pick.

The picture the shop draws Father's Day games around.

The story it tells

It is Father's Day.

The shed can wait.

The car can wait.

Everyone else cannot.

Sam and Alex stand in for the names you give us.

The Father's Day game is ten levels with no jobs in them. Everything that usually needs his attention has been dealt with, the road is clear, and the people at the end of it are waiting with nothing more difficult than a chair. His name is on the title screen, and the music is his.

Any of the seven worlds can tell it, and you pick the art style and the clothes yourself.

What waits at the finish

Then the pictures come out, which is what the game was for. Yours, in a Father's Day frame, each with a line you wrote under it, in the order you chose, then your video, then the last word. On the complete game they move quietly for a few seconds before they settle, and the old ones are the ones that get you.

A prize photograph from a sample game, brought to life for a few seconds inside a gilded frame. The frame the prizes come out in for a Father's Day game.
An example from the winter birthday demo, and the frame this occasion uses. The people in our sample games are invented.

The prizes, and what is written under them

  1. The first one A day worth keeping, and the people in it.
  2. And this one The ones who were there for all of it.
  3. And this Somewhere he was happy and not working.
  4. One more Because there is more to him than any one picture.
  5. And the last The one that looks exactly like him.

And then the last word

Happy Father's Day, Sam

Thank you for every time

You turned up without being asked.

These are the words we start from. You write your own captions, your own closing message, and choose which photograph comes last.

Add a gift card

You can slip a gift card into the game as well. On the extras step you say what kind of card it is, where it is used, the amount if you want it shown, and the code from the card you bought, with a line of your own to go with it. It comes out after the photographs, in a sealed envelope the player opens, and the code is written on the card inside. Any card from any shop works, because you tell us which. The code itself is never put in the game: it stays on our website, and the game asks for it at the moment the envelope is opened, so a copy of the game gives nothing away. It adds nothing to the price.

The gift card stage of a sample game: a sealed envelope with a gold ribbon and wax seal, with a small tag naming the card and the amount.
ClosedThe envelope as it arrives, after the photographs, in our castle birthday sample game.
The same envelope opened: the card slid out, with the kind of card, the amount, a sample code and the buyer's note written on it.
OpenedThe card with its words on it. The code here is a sample; the sample games are made for invented people.

Three sample games to watch

Any world tells any occasion, so these are only three of the seven. All three are sample games made for invented people.
