THE GAME GIFT

A Valentine's game with the two of you in it

One evening, one road, one person waiting. Send two photographs and we draw you both, in the art style and the clothes you pick.

The picture the shop draws Valentine's games around.

The story it tells

It is Valentine's Day.

The table is booked,

The flowers are bought,

And Sam is still miles away.

Sam and Alex stand in for the names you give us.

The Valentine's game runs at dusk. Ten levels between where the hero starts and where the other one is standing, and nothing about it is subtle: the music, the colours and the last screen all know exactly what day it is. Both names are on the title screen, and the outfits are the ones you chose.

Any of the seven worlds can tell it, and you pick the art style and the clothes yourself.

What waits at the finish

Then the pictures. Yours, in a Valentine's frame, each with a line you wrote under it, one after another until the one you saved for last. Your video plays after that, then your closing message. On the complete game the photographs move for a few seconds before they settle, which is worth seeing on a picture of the two of you.

A prize photograph from a sample game, brought to life for a few seconds inside a gilded frame. The frame the prizes come out in for a Valentine's game.
An example from the jungle wedding demo, and the frame this occasion uses. The people in our sample games are invented.

The prizes, and what is written under them

  1. The first one The day it started, and nobody knew yet.
  2. And this one Somewhere you were happy and not pretending.
  3. And this The face you only make when they are looking.
  4. One more Because one picture was never going to be enough.
  5. And the last The one you will both still have in ten years.

And then the last word

Happy Valentine, Sam

Of all the roads there were,

This is the one that led to you.

These are the words we start from. You write your own captions, your own closing message, and choose which photograph comes last.

Add a gift card

You can slip a gift card into the game as well. On the extras step you say what kind of card it is, where it is used, the amount if you want it shown, and the code from the card you bought, with a line of your own to go with it. It comes out after the photographs, in a sealed envelope the player opens, and the code is written on the card inside. Any card from any shop works, because you tell us which. The code itself is never put in the game: it stays on our website, and the game asks for it at the moment the envelope is opened, so a copy of the game gives nothing away. It adds nothing to the price.

The gift card stage of a sample game: a sealed envelope with a gold ribbon and wax seal, with a small tag naming the card and the amount.
ClosedThe envelope as it arrives, after the photographs, in our castle birthday sample game.
The same envelope opened: the card slid out, with the kind of card, the amount, a sample code and the buyer's note written on it.
OpenedThe card with its words on it. The code here is a sample; the sample games are made for invented people.
